• Mobile Post Office Van

Unfortunately the Mobile Post Office Van will no longer be visiting Hindolveston and the other villages in the area. The Post Master from Guist, who had the contract, is very sorry that he is no longer able to provide this service for the wider community. It is understood that the Post Office are moving to a new ‘model’ – a pop-up style post office in a public space. However no further details are available.

The Parish Council understands the concerns about the removal of this provision of a post office service and would encourage you all to contact the MP and the District and County Councillors so that they can put pressure on the Post Office to continue to provide post office services in rural communities such as Hindolveston.

  • Mobile Post Office back in Hindolveston

The mobile post office van has resumed its regular visit to Hindolveston: every Wednesday 11.10 to 12.10 pm by the Church

  • Mobile Post Office temporarily cancelled 15 December

Unfortunately due to a positive covid test of the husband of the lady (who operates the van on Wednesday), until we hear back on whether it is the Omicron variant she has to isolate. This means that the Post Office Van will not be able to operate this week (15  December 2021) and as the rules change for daily testing that comes into force does not apply retrospectively to isolation cases it is unlikely it will be able to operate next week either. I know this is extremely disappointing news to those that rely on the mobile service.

Hopefully everyone will be ok before Christmas and we will be back on the road in the New Year.

To those that I won’t see before, I do hope you all have a nice Christmas, I wish you all a Happy New Year!

    Most importantly stay safe!

    Best wishes
