    2. Each year the smaller authority prepares an Annual Governance and Accountability Return (AGAR). The AGAR has been published with this notice. It will not be reviewed by the appointed auditor, since the smaller authority has certified itself as exempt from the appointed auditor’s review.

    Any person interested has the right to inspect and make copies of the AGAR, the accounting records for the financial year to which it relates and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers, receipts and other documents relating to those records must be made available for inspection by any person interested. For the year ended 31 March 2023, these documents will be available on reasonable notice by application to:

    1. Local government electors and their representatives also have:

Written notice of an objection must first be given to the auditor and a copy sent to the smaller authority.

    The appointed auditor can be contacted at the address in paragraph 4 below for this purpose between the above dates only.

    1. The smaller authority’s AGAR is only subject to review by the appointed auditor if questions or objections raised under the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 lead to the involvement of the auditor. The appointed auditor is:

  • Notice of Temporary Road Closure

    NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL proposes to make a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (NTRO6697) affecting the Hindolveston Road from 1700m north of its junction with The Street for 50m north-eastwards in the PARISH OF MELTON CONSTABLE to facilitate electrical works.

    The road will be temporarily closed (except for access) from 6th to 20th June 2023 for the duration of the works expected to be about 15 days within the period.

    Alternative route is via: Hindolveston Road, Melton Road, The Street, Fulmodeston Road, Holt Road, Dereham Road, Briston Road (Wood Norton, Briningham, Hindolveston, Melton Constable, Swanton Novers).

    If necessary, the restriction could run for a maximum period of 18 months from the date of the Order.

    Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.

    In the event of the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance.

    Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 – Section 14(2)

    In accordance with the provisions of Section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Norfolk County Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that owing to emergency carriageway repairs the use by vehicles of the B1354 Melton Road from its junction with Gunthorpe Lane to its junction with Brick Kiln Lane in the PARISH OF BRININGHAM will be temporarily prohibited on 15th May 2023 for the duration of the works, expected to be about 1 day within the period.

    This Notice has a maximum duration of 21 days. Where exceptional circumstances are encountered during the performance of the works specified in this Notice, the operational period of this Notice may become extended by issuing an Order or further Notice to allow completion of the works for a maximum duration of 18 months.
