    Please note that this LDC application is not an application for Planning Permission. LDC applications are made under the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 but must be determined upon the available evidence and on the civil law “balance of probabilities” test. The District Council is therefore unable to take into account expressions of support or opposition to the subject-matter of a LDC application although if the Parish Council (or individual members) has any information relating to the application site this would be very helpful.

  • Notice of Temporary Road Closures

    NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL proposes to make a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (NTRO6287) affecting the 1) U14156 Nethergate from its junction with Thurning Road for 150m southwards; 2) Thurning Road from its junction with The Street for 120m eastwards; and 3) Barbers Wood Road from its junction with Craymere Beck for 100m westwards in the PARISH OF HINDOVLESTON to facilitate BT duct works.

    The road will be temporarily closed (except for access) from 27th February to 10th March 2023, only while signs indicating the closure are in place, for the duration of the works expected to be about 12 days within the period. Please note that the works will take place in phases within the period so that the roads are not closed at the same time.

    Alternative route is via: 1) Thurning Road, Nethergate, Hindolveston Road, Skitfield Road, Foulsham Road, The Street; 2) Thurning Road, Craymere Beck, Barbers Wood Road; and 3) Barbers Wood Road, Craymere Beck, Thurning Road (Wood Norton, Guestwick, Hindolveston).

    If necessary, the restriction could run for a maximum period of 18 months from the date of the Order.

    Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.

    In the event of the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance.
