    THE BIG HIT

Based on a true story, ‘A Big Hit’ is a warm French drama about an actor working with a bunch of hard-boiled prisoners to produce a theatrical Beckett play. Etienne, an endearing but unemployed actor, runs a theatre workshop in a prison, where he collects an unlikely troupe of prisoners to stage Beckett's play’ Waiting for Godot’. When he is allowed to take the convicts on a successful tour outside of prison, a unique relationship grows between these ad hoc actors and their director. But soon comes the final performance in Paris. Will their last night together be the biggest hit of them all?

“A madcap idea, but not entirely impossible, and Merad is wonderful as a scrambling, middle-aged thespian desperate to make it work.” – Sunday Independent
”Impressive French prison comedy-drama, based on the true story of a drama teacher who worked in a high-security jail, this film crackles with charm and nervous energy” – The Guardian

    SATURDAY 21 MARCH

    A COMPLETE UNKNOWN

The Bob Dylan biopic, nominated for 8 Oscars. Against the backdrop of a vibrant music scene and tumultuous cultural upheaval, an enigmatic 19-year-old from Minnesota arrives with his guitar and revolutionary talent, destined to change the course of American music. He forges intimate relationships with music icons of Greenwich Village on his meteoric rise, culminating in a ground-breaking and controversial performance that reverberates worldwide. Timothée Chalamet stars and sings as Bob Dylan in the electric true story behind the rise of one of the most iconic singer-songwriters in history.

“Timothée Chalamet’s Bob Dylan is an electric revelation – a biopic follows the rise of the era-defining star with Chalamet brilliantly embodying his shapeshifting allure” – The Guardian
“Dylan’s greatest hits have always been heirlooms: somehow just there. Amid the recreated past, the movie restores a sense of how seismic they would originally have been… New ears and life-long fans may both relish the raw novelty” – Financial Times

    BLACK BAG

‘Black Bag’ is a gripping spy drama, starring Cate Blanchett and Michael Fassbender, directed by Steven Sodebergh, about legendary intelligence agents George Woodhouse and his beloved wife Kathryn. When she is suspected of betraying the nation, George faces the ultimate test – loyalty to his marriage or his country. ‘Black Bag’ is slang for the place where secrets are kept – and where married people find the truth about their spouse is hidden. Intrigue in marital espionage… Steven Soderbergh’s spy drama sends two married agents after a mole, who might turn out to be one of them.

“An enjoyably grown-up spy film—measured, stylish, and more interested in secrets between people than global stakes… there’s plenty to admire in the confident craft and performances” – Screen Realm.

“Sleek in design and spiked with dry wit, Black Bag is an exemplary espionage caper that lets movie stars like Cate Blanchett and Michael Fassbender do what they do best — light up the screen.” – Rotten Tomatoes
