  • The Great BIG pudding evening returns to Hindolveston

    Saturday 28th February 2026, 7pm to 10pm in Hindolveston Village Hall

    An enchanting story from our village; a few years ago, a group of gentlemen in the village organised pudding evenings in the Village Hall, people kindly made a homemade pudding and contributed the pudding for the evening. Let’s do it again, lets revive the Hindolveston Village pudding evening.

    Everyone is warmly invited to the village pudding evening 28th February. Bring your family and friends for a fun evening where puddings will be shared and enjoyed together. The village hall bar will be open and tea and coffee will be available too.

    THE BALLAD OF WALLIS ISLAND

    The Ballad of Wallis Island is a 2025 British comedy-drama film, written by Tim Key and Tom Basden, starring Carey Mulligan, about an eccentric lottery winner who lives alone on a remote island, who tries to make his fantasies come true by getting his favourite musicians to perform at his home. Herb McGwyer—formerly half of folk duo McGwyer/ Mortimer—arrives on the remote Wallis Island off the coast of Wales, where eccentric widowed super-fan Charles Heath has contracted him to play a show before a select private audience. Charles brings Herb to stay at his home, presenting his £500,000 fee as a suitcase of cash —and eventually admits that he will be the show’s sole audience.  Herb is surprised by the arrival of Nell, the other half of McGwyer/Mortimer,  who he has not seen in years, and old tensions resurface as Charles tries desperately to salvage his dream gig. You’ll leave wanting your own island, your own gig and your own lock of Carey Mulligan’s hair.

    SEASIDE SPECIAL

    A German documentary,’ Seaside Special’ follows the Norfolk town of Cromer as it prepares for its end-of-pier show – a  mix of song and dance, stand-up comedy and slapstick, performed for three months in summer 2019, set against clashing views over Brexit. A bittersweet,  empathetic portrait – we meet the directors, the performers, the people who flock to each show, this is affectionate and funny filmmaking, reflecting the eccentricities of English entertainment.  A European love letter to Great Britain.
