    NOTICE OF PUBLIC RIGHTS AND PUBLICATION OF ANNUAL GOVERNANCE & ACCOUNTABILITY RETURN (EXEMPT AUTHORITY)

    ACCOUNTS FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2025

    Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 Sections 25, 26 and 27

    NOTICE

    1. Date of announcement: 2 June 2025

    2. Each year the smaller authority prepares an Annual Governance and Accountability Return (AGAR).  The AGAR has been published with this notice. It will not be reviewed by the appointed auditor, since the smaller authority has certified itself as exempt from the appointed auditor’s review.

    Any person interested has the right to inspect and make copies of the AGAR, the accounting records for the financial year to which it relates and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers, receipts and other documents relating to those records must be made available for inspection by any person interested. For the year ended 31 March 2025, these documents will be available on reasonable notice by application to:

    commencing on Tuesday 3 June 2025 and ending on Monday 14 July 2025

    3. Local government electors and their representatives also have:

    ·         The opportunity to question the appointed auditor about the accounting records; and

    • The right to make an objection which concerns a matter in respect of which the appointed auditor could either make a public interest report or apply to the court for a declaration that an item of account is unlawful. Written notice of an objection must first be given to the auditor and a copy sent to the smaller authority.

    The appointed auditor can be contacted at the address in paragraph 4 below for this purpose between the above dates only.

    4. The smaller authority’s AGAR is only subject to review by the appointed auditor if questions or objections raised under the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 lead to the involvement of the auditor.  The appointed auditor is:

  • Notice of Temporary Road Closure

    Norfolk County Council (Briston)

    Emergency Notice

    Temporary Traffic Regulation Order 2025

    Section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

    Briston (NTRO9703) Notice

    In accordance with the provisions of Section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Norfolk County Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that owing to Anglian Water repairs of a burst water main the use by vehicles (of any class) of the Craymere Road from 550m southwest of its junction with C267 Reepham Road for 50m south westwards (the “Road”) in the Parish of Briston will be temporarily prohibited/restricted.

    Alternative route is via: Craymere Road, Reepham Road, Wood Dalling Road, Hindolveston Road, Craymere Beck Road, Craymere Beck (Thurning, Hindolveston, Melton Constable, Briston).

    The closure/restriction is necessary because of the likelihood of danger to the public or serious damage to the road or both.

    The closure/restriction is anticipated to take place from 14th to 20th May 2025 but the Road may continue to be closed/restricted until the 3rd June 2025 where the closure/restriction is still required beyond the anticipated dates.

    This Notice shall automatically revoke on the completion of the works / when the closure/restriction is no longer necessary or otherwise on the 3rd June 2025 without further notice.

    If necessary, this Notice may be extended for an additional 21 days by further Notice and/or for a maximum of 18 months from the date this Notice is effective by further Order.

    The works promoter for this restriction/closure is: Anglian Water

    A person who contravenes, or who uses or permits the use of a vehicle in contravention of the restriction/ closure imposed by the Order shall be guilty of an offence.

    Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.

  • Notification of Road Closure

    Norfolk County Council proposes to make a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (the “Order”) (NTRO9444) affecting the Croxton Road from 295m west of its junction with Barney Road for 35m westwards (the “Road”) in the  Parish of Fulmodeston with Barney to facilitate Norfolk County Council carriageway resurfacing works, the Road will be temporarily closed (except for pedestrian access) for the duration of the works/period the closure is necessary which is anticipated to be on 14th May 2025, but may continue to be closed/restricted until the 25th June 2025 where the closure is still required beyond the anticipated dates.

    Alternative route is via: Croxton Road, Barney Road, The Street, Melton Road, Fakenham Road, Holt Road, Kettlestone Road, Little Snoring Road, Fulmodeston Road (Fulmodeston, Little Snoring, Kettlestone, Thursford).

    The works promoter for this restriction/closure is: Norfolk County Council.

    Vehicular access will be permitted to a final destination in the Road where signs indicating such access is possible and permitted are in place.

    The Order shall automatically revoke on the completion of the works when the closure is no longer necessary or otherwise on the 25t June 2025 without further notice.

    If necessary, the restriction could run for a maximum period of 18 months from the date the Order is effective.

    A person who contravenes, or who uses or permits the use of a vehicle in contravention of the closure imposed by the Order shall be guilty of an offence.

    Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.

    In the event of the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance.
