    The Outrun, named after inhospitable land in the Orkneys, is a heart-wrenching story adapted from Amy Liptrot’s memoir, starring a mesmerising Saoirse Ronan – a tough addiction drama, that tells the story of Rona, fresh out of rehab, who returns to the wild Orkney Islands after more than a decade away. As she reconnects with the dramatic landscape where she grew up, memories of her childhood merge with the more recent challenging events that have set her on the path to recovery. A  typically transcendent performance from Saoirse Ronan.

    THE PROMISED LAND (Denmark)

    A Danish period drama. From BAFTA nominated writer and director Nikolaj Arcel comes a powerful Nordic epic starring Mads Mikkelsen (The Hunt, Another Round). In 1755, the impoverished Captain Ludvig Kahlen (Mads Mikkelsen) sets out to conquer a vast uninhabitable land with a seemingly impossible goal; to cultivate valuable crops and build a colony for the King in exchange for a desperately desired royal name for himself. But the sole ruler of the area, the merciless Frederik De Schinkel, determinedly believes this territory belongs to him.     ALL OF US STRANGERS
